Sēkwl’s Garden Party Mocktail Cacao Fizz Recipe with Reishi and Chaga
May 18, 2026
Last night, at Denver Family Institute’s annual Garden Party fundraiser hosted by Denver Family Institute and Envision:You at the Denver Botanic Gardens, we had a delicious opportunity to serve Sēkwl as the featured nonalcoholic beverage sponsor for an evening centered around community, joy, and mental health advocacy.
The Garden Party celebrates the organizations’ work expanding accessible, affirming mental health care for the LGBTQIA+ community across Colorado. We’re incredibly proud to support DFI’s work beginning last year when we supported Envision:You during Pride 2025 when we partnered with the mental health nonprofit when we launched our Cranberry Lime flavor.
The evening was the perfect place to try out our deeply rich, citrusy, and functional mushroom-powered mocktail moment.
So naturally, we just had to share the recipe.
Sēkwl’s Garden Party Cacao Fizz
This mocktail is built around our Cacao Sēkwl organic craft seltzer and makes something that feels equal parts refreshing, bittersweet, and lightly botanical. Most importantly, it’s ridiculously easy to make!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- ½ oz cacao simple syrup
- 6 dashes cacao bitters
- 4 oz Sēkwl Cacao Sparkling Water: https://drinksekwl.com/products/cacao-adaptogenic-sparkling-water-all-natural
- A dried orange slice for garnish
For those who’d like to add a spirit, we suggest adding 1.5 oz bourbon!
How to Make It the Sēkwl Cacao Fizz
- Add the cacao syrup and cacao bitters into a rocks glass filled with ice.
- If using bourbon, add it here.
- Top with 4 oz of chilled Sēkwl Cacao and gently stir. Garnish with a dried orange slice and enjoy slowly.
And that’s it!
Simple. Layered. And surprisingly sophisticated without trying too hard.
Why We Love This Recipe
One thing we’ve always stood by is that Sēkwl functional beverages should still feel fun.
Not clinical. Not boring. Not something you “have” to drink. But a drink you want to drink.
Our Sēkwl Cacao Fizz captures exactly what we love about functional mushrooms and botanical ingredients: depth, flavor, and balance.
The earthy richness of cacao paired with bright citrus and bitters creates a drink that feels indulgent while still staying grounded in intentional ingredients.

How You Can Support the Denver Family Institute
Finally, we wanted to share that this Garden Party wasn’t just another event sponsorship for us. Organizations like Denver Family Institute are doing deeply important work — providing affordable therapy, affirming care, mental health training, and support systems for communities that too often face barriers to care.
We’re honored to support that mission however we can, whether that’s through sponsorships, partnerships, community events, or simply helping create welcoming spaces where everyone feels included.

Cheers to summer evenings, intentional ingredients, and communities that care for one another. 🍄✨
